Bundle stock calculator

Find how many complete kits you can promise from the components you actually have. Account for existing reservations and a safety buffer before publishing a quantity.

Build your component list

Use the same unit of measure for each component's stock and usage. Decimal quantities work for materials. Maximum 20 components. This tool runs in your browser; inputs are not sent to ArtisanSW.

How the calculation works

For each component: available = max(0, on hand − reserved − safety stock). Component capacity = floor(available ÷ units per bundle). The maximum complete bundle quantity is the smallest component capacity.

In the example, mugs have 18 − 2 − 2 = 14 available, enough for 7 two-mug kits. Tea supports 20 kits and boxes support 10. The kit ceiling is therefore 7. Fractional kits cannot be sold, so the result rounds down.

Shared stock is not extra stock

If two kits share mugs, each kit's independently calculated capacity is an alternative use of the same inventory. Do not add those two capacities. Allocate the first kit's components, enter that allocation as reserved stock, then recalculate the second.

Count reservations once. If your source already reports available-to-sell stock after reservations, do not subtract them again. This calculator does not include incoming purchases, damaged goods, manufacturing lead time, or channel update delays. Add only physically usable stock to on hand.

Which software handles the next step?

For fixed bundles sharing finished items across stores, examine Trunk. For material consumption and batch costing, examine Stocksmith. The calculator models availability; it does not synchronize store listings.
